Robinson Connection To Kings and Queens, Even of Kiev, Ukraine

Nadene Goldfoot
Edited 3/12/17

My mother, Mildred Elizabeth Goldfoot nee Robinson,  always wanted me to find her connected to some king or queen, and I managed to do so legitimately, but only after she had passed away through both her mother and possibly her father. In both cases, we wind up with Ann Hyde on our tree who married the king of England.

We are connected to Deborah Hyde,(October 16, 1734 in Lebanon, New London, Connecticut) the 3rd great grandmother to Mildred and her line: of being married to another Amos Robinson,   leads straight to the Robinson from Meppershal, England that our James Robinson of the same haplogroup, ".R1b1a2a1a1b4 or R-L21,   He's not a DNA cousin but his haplogroup is the same as Ken's. I do believe that this line is our Robinson line after having a lot of doubt.  After having a deep analysis of our Y haplotype with the BIG Y Test , it was established that we had some Irish genes in the Robinson line.  As it turns out, Hyde is an Irish surname and an Amos Benton Robinson was married to Deborah Hyde on May 11, 1758.  They connect to Anne Hyde and her daughter, Queen Anne of Great Britain.  Now that's got to be our connection !!  Anne Hyde had married King James, II, Duke of York and VII of the HOUSE OF STUART.

The surname of Robinson is only found in Ulster, ireland.  King James I (James VI and I was King of Scotland as James VI from 24 July 1567 and King of England and Ireland as James I from the union of the Scottish and English crowns on 24 March 1603 until his death in 1625,  then colonised Ulster with English-speaking Protestant settlers from Great Britain, in the Plantation of Ulster. This led to the founding of many of Ulster's towns. The inflow of Protestant settlers and migrants also led to bouts of sectarian violence with Catholics, notably during the 1641 rebellion and the Armagh disturbances. Along with the rest of Ireland, Ulster became part of the United Kingdom in 1801. In the early 20th century, moves towards Irish self-rule were opposed by many Ulster Protestants, sparking the Home Rule Crisis. This, and the subsequent Irish War of Independence, led to the partition of Ireland. Six Ulster counties became Northern Ireland, a self-governing territory within the United Kingdom, while the rest of Ireland became the Irish Free State, now the Republic of Ireland.

1. (This is how we connect.  My mother's  father was Frank Hugh Robinson b: 1870 in Wenona, Illinois
2. His father was Abiathar Smith Robinson b: 1829 in Vermont or NY and died in Wenona, Illinois.
3. Abiathar's father was possibly Amos Robinson IV b: 1797 Royalton, Vermont, died in Decatur, Illinois or Wisconsin.
4. Amos' father was Amos Robinson III b: 1767, Lebanon, Connecticut-died Decatur, Illinois,  or
4. Amos Benton Robinson, Jr.  b: 1734  Lunenburg, Worcester,  Massachusetts-great grandfather of Abiathar Smith Robinson.

6. His wife was DEBORAH HYDE. b: 1734-in
Lebanon, New London, Connecticut;  d: 1780 Hartford, Windsor County, Vermont.  She's buried in the Russ Town Cemetery, White River Junction, Hartford, Windsor, Vermont/St Anthony Catholic Ce, White River Junction, Windsor county, VT)

Descendants of Amos Robinson, Jr
1   [1] Amos Robinson, Jr b: July 26, 1734 in Lunenburg, Worcester,  Massachusetts. ..
.. +Deborah Hyde b: October 16, 1734 in Lebanon, New London, Connecticut
Another Robinson just wrote that her branch of her Robinsons traced Amos back to A John Warren who was the 12th signer of the Mayflower.  They trace him through Deborah Hyde's line.  She's sending it to me.  There is a Thanksgiving Walt Disney cartoon that is often shown, called "The Mouse and the Mayflower".  You can see the name John Warren very plainly.

I also had figured we were connected in this way with Deborah from my findings, even though I have never found a record of who our grandfather, Frank Hugh Robinson's grandfather actually was; only that Abiathar Smith Robinson, his father, had married Julia Ann Tuller of Royalton, Vermont, and there were a lot of Robinson families living there; one of which was Amos Robinson b: December 28, 1797 in Royalton, Vermont.  He died in Decatur, Macon, Illinois before June 1880, and Abiathar had moved to Wenona, Illinois after being in Canada from abt 1852 to 1865 .

So now I have found that Deborah Hyde b: October 16, 1734 is connected to Anne Hyde b: March 22, 1637/38 in Cranbourne Lodge, Windsor in Berkshire,Windsor, England, whose husband was....drum role....King James II.
James II & VII (14 October 1633O.S. – 16 September 1701)[2] was King of England and King of Ireland as James II and King of Scotland as James VII,[1] from 6 February 1685. He was the last Catholic monarch to reign over the Kingdoms of England, Scotland, and Ireland.  From King James VII, we are connected to every imaginable king and queen.

Descendants of ANNE HYDE

Anne Hyde was Duchess of York and of Albany as the first wife of the future King James II of England. Originally an Anglican, she converted to Catholicism soon after her marriage to James.

Today I stumbled on another one that led to the Prince of Ukraine.  So we had Jewish relatives in Ukraine and were indirectly connected to the long ago rulers of Ukraine.  I'm learning about a history I hadn't come across before about Ukraine.  What a shock!

We are connected to the House of Stuart and the House of Tudor as well as other Houses of Royalty. One leads to the others   Through French Kings,,House of Bourbon, etc, we connect to the following of Ukraine.:

Through our father, we Goldfoots connect to Rabbi Samson or his brother, Moshe Wertheimer (1658-1724) in Worms, Rhineland "Germany" who connects to Rashi (1040-1105) in Troyes, France, who connects to King David of Israel.  This is really a great surprise for the family.
