Results of SNP Test for DF23

The results were posted sooner than expected.  Our Robinsons are negative for this SNP DF23.  What that means, I have no idea as far as time or place in history or what family line this is commensurate with.  I checked who we match, who is like our haplogroup of R1b1a2a1a1b4 P 312+L21+U152 or in a shorter name, we are known as R-L21, and the Irish match us the most.

I have traced our family with the big help of another Robinson with our dna to a John Robinson of Mepperhall, Shefford, Bedfordshire, England born in 1611 and died in 1675.   Yet my grandfather told us that our family came from Wales.  Well, we could say that we are from the British Isles for sure.

Now I'd like to know what ship he came over on.  We know it wasn't in 1620 on the Mayflower as Grandfather said we came on the next ship AFTER the Mayflower.  There was a fleet of ships in about 1640, I think it was.  Maybe it was on one of those.
12/21/11 Update: our one match with a distance of 5 just got his results of this same test and he is also the same as us with the shorthand name of R-L21.

SNP DF23 Ordered Today

Nadene Goldfoot
I just ordered a new SNP test today for $29 to see if our Robinson line has the DF23 SNP.
11/16/11 I see that pending orders was listed and find that my order is due on 12/26/2011, so I'll quit looking every day for the results.  Usually they are ready before the predicted date.

DF23 is believed to be between L21 and M222 on the R1b phylogenetic tree. If that is true, all M222+ men should be DF23+ and some L21+ men who are M222- should be also be DF23+. We should find out soon, as the results come rolling in.

Our Robinson line is positive for L21 but not for M222.  Where shall we land in this line?
Here is a draft tree from ftdna showing the span of what this might show.
